A 25-year-old housemaid, Naomi Tunba, was arraigned in a Jimeta Area Court in Yola for allegedly stealing N130,000 from her employer.

Tunba, who pleaded not guilty to the theft charge, had worked with the complainant for over three years, developing a trusted relationship.

The police prosecutor alleged that on January 25, the defendant took the complainant’s handbag with her Zenith Bank ATM card inside. Two days later, the complainant received a debit alert of N130,000.

Tunba was eventually arrested, and during police investigation, she denied the allegations, claiming withdrawals were traced to various POS operators.

The case is adjourned until February 19 for hearing.
