Emem Jimmy, a 200 dimension Political Science understudy of the Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) was shot dead by infamous telephone snatchers at the end of the week along Wilson Idiong road, near the Obio Akpa grounds of the University in Oruk Anam nearby government territory of the state.

The Head, Directorate of Information, Public Relations and Protocol of the University, Mr Akaninyene Ibanga, who affirmed the episode, said the unfortunate casualty passed on however he was quickly hurried to the medical clinic for treatment.
An announcement from the Ibanga read;
“Late Emem was shot between the long periods of 8.30 – 9pm at Wilson Idiong Street, off Ikot Okoro Road, Obioakpa, Oruk Anam Local Government Area trying to oppose obscure shooters from grabbing his telephone. He was surged promptly to the medical clinic for treatment which the University Management assumed control over the emergency clinic charges just to spare his life yet on Saturday late Emem couldn’t endure the battle with death, so he at long last passed on at about 12.30pm.”
